Usual Dosage

Adults: Oral: 1 tablet every 8-12 hours


Dental Health: Local Anesthetic/Vasoconstrictor Precautions

Use with caution since phenylpropanolamine is a sympathomimetic amine which could interact with epinephrine to cause a pressor response


Dental Health: Effects on Dental Treatment

Chlorpheniramine: Prolonged use will cause significant xerostomia

Phenylpropanolamine: Up to 10% of patients could experience tachycardia, palpitations, and dry mouth; use vasoconstrictor with caution


Dosage Forms

Tablet, timed release: Chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg, phenindamine tartrate 24 mg, and phenylpropanolamine hydrochloride 50 mg
