Ethamsylate

Ethamsylate (Dicynene/Dicynone) is a haemostatic drug

It is believed to work by increasing capillary endothelial resistance and promoting platelet adhesion.

It also inhibits biosynthesis and action of those prostaglandins which cause platelet disaggregation, vasodilation and increased capillary permeability


Properties:

- Ethamsylate (Haemostop®) is a non-hormonal synthetic anti-haemorrhagic agent for improving the platelet adhesiveness and maintaining the stability of capillary wall.
- Ethamsylate (Haemostop®) reduces rapidly and substantially the bleeding time (40-45% after the first half-hour). Its effect remains at a therapeutic level until the sixth hour (23%) then declines progressively.
- Ethamsylate (Haemostop®) is a water soluble non-steroidal drug absorbed from the gastro-intestinal tract. Plasma half-life is 3.7 hours. 72% of the dose is excreted unchanged in the urine in the first 24 hours.
- Ethamsylate (Haemostop®) has no vaso-constrictor or anti-fibrinolytic actions and does not modify the plasma clotting factors (fibrinogen level and coagulation time remain unchanged).



Indications:

Surgery:

- Prevention and treatment of pre and post-operative bleeding in all delicate, minor and major operations e.g. E.N.T., gynecological, urological, dental, ophthalmic and plastic surgeries.

Internal Medicine:

- Prevention and treatment of capillary haemorrhage of whatever origin of localization e.g. haematemesis, haematuria, melena, etc.


Gynecology:

Treatment of menorrhagia, I.U.D. related menorrhagia and metrorrhagia.
- As an angio-protective for patients with high risk of haemorrhage or when patients must be protected from possibility of haemorrhage.


Pediatric:

- Prevention and treatment of peri-ventricular haemorrhages in low birth-weight neonates and intra-ventricular haemorrhages of low birth-weight infants.


Contra-Indictions

There are no known contra-indications of the use of Ethamsylate (Haemostop®). It has no toxic or teratogenic effects and does not give rise to serological or allergic reactions.


Adverse Effects:Uncommon and may include nausea, headache and skin rash

يسلموا سارة ... من خلال الشرح يبدو ان الدواء اكتر من ممتاز لكن ليش مانو شائع الاستخدام ؟؟ انا ما درستو او سمعت فيه أبدا !!!؟

و هي الاسم العلمي للدواء متل ما وجدت بالنت : 2,5-dihydroxybenzenesulfonic acid; N-ethylethanamine

الدوا مهم جدا هنا حتى ال dicenone حاليا بمنطقتى ناقص .... انا بس امبارح طلعت اربع امبولات ومحلول جلوكوز ومطلوب تانى لكنو للاسف خلص واضطريت اعطيها هيموستوب ... الدوا مهم لحالات النزيف والتجهيز للعمليات وبيحتاجو منو امبولات بتنحط مع محلول جلوكوز ... ازاى مش سمعت عنو ...

اكيد موجود منو عندكو قبل اى عمليه .... لو سالت بالطوارئ او قسم الجراحه هتعرف .. ممكن الاسامى التجاريه بتفرق ... بالمقال زكر اسمين haemastop , dicenone ويوجد ايضا باسامى تانيه زى Kapron , haemakion اسامى تجاريه لكنى اعتقد انو ال dicenone موجود عندكو ...

ممكن لو تفوت دكتوره سوزى تحكى عنو

بصراحة يا جماعة هي أول مرة بسمع بهالتركيب العلمي

انا خرجت الدوا ده فى حالتين قريب ... اول حاله مريضه سكر وادخله تعمل عمليه ... سالت ليه واخده هيموستوب.... جاوبتنى الدكتوره
حتى يحافظ على سيوله الدم ونعمل كنترول على النزيف

الحاله التانيه كانت امبارح وعباره عن .... زوجه تعانى من نزيف بالرحم والطبيب بيجهزها لعمليه كحط ... من ضمن الروشته كان فى الهيموستوب ..... كمان لقيت مقال بخصوص الموضوع ده http://www.bmj.com/content/313/7057/579.full
