Patient Information

Take as directed; do not take more than directed. Dissolve granules, powder, or tablets in 4-6 ounces of water or juice and stir before drinking. Do not take on an empty stomach; take with or after meals. Consult prescriber about increasing dietary potassium intake (eg, salt substitutes, orange juice, bananas, etc). Report tingling of hands or feet, unresolved nausea or vomiting, chest pain, palpitations, persistent abdominal pain, muscle cramping or weakness, tarry stools, easy bruising, or unusual bleeding. Pregnancy precautions: Inform prescriber if you are pregnant.


Nursing Implications

Dissolve completely in 3-8 oz cold water, juice, or other suitable beverage and drink slowly
