Short-term treatment of constipation


Adverse Reactions

1% to 10%: Gastrointestinal: Abdominal cramps, diarrhea, rectal obstruction


Usual Dosage

Oral:

Breast fed: 1-2 teaspoonfuls in 2-4 oz of water or fruit juice 1-2 times/day

Bottle fed: 1/2 to 2 tablespoonfuls/day in formula for 3-4 days, then 1-2 teaspoonfuls/day

Children 2-11 years: 1-2 tablespoonfuls 1-2 times/day

Children greater than or equal to 12 years and Adults:

Liquid: 2 tablespoonfuls twice daily for 3-4 days, then 1-2 tablespoonfuls every evening

Tablet: 4 tablets 4 times/day
