Use

Local anesthesia of the oral mucosa prior to oral injections and soft-tissue dental procedures

Mechanism of Action

Blocks both the initiation and conduction of nerve impulses by decreasing the neuronal membrane's permeability to sodium ions, which results in inhibition of depolarization with resultant blockade of conduction


Pharmacodynamics/Kinetics

Onset of action: 2 minutes

Duration of anesthesia after patch application: Based on 15-minute wear period, effect is present for at least 40 minutes

One patch on selected area of oral mucosa
