Known hypersensitivity to butoconazole

In pregnancy, use only during 2nd or 3rd trimesters; if irritation or sensitization occurs, discontinue use


Adverse Reactions

1% to 10%: Genitourinary: Vulvar/vaginal burning

<1%: Vulvar itching, soreness, edema, or discharge; polyuria

Mechanism of Action

Increases cell membrane permeability in susceptible fungi ( Candida)


Pharmacodynamics/Kinetics

Absorption: Following intravaginal application small amounts of drug are absorbed systemically (25%) within 2-8 hours

Half-life: 21-24 hours

Elimination: Into urine and feces in approximate equal amounts
