Use

Recommended for individuals who may come in contact with animal products which come from anthrax endemic areas and may be contaminated with Bacillus anthracis spores; recommended for high-risk persons such as veterinarians and other handling potentially infected animals. Routine immunization for the general population is not recommended.

>10%: Local: Mild reactions

1% to 10%: Local: Moderate reactions with inflammation and pruritus, subcutaneous nodules; all local reactions have been reversible

Mechanism of Action

Active immunization against Bacillus anthracis


Usual Dosage

Primary immunization: S.C.: Three injections of 0.5 mL each given 2 weeks apart followed by three additional S.C. injections given at 6, 12, and 18 months

Subsequent booster injections: 0.5 mL at 1-year intervals are recommended for immunity to be maintained
